Metaphor study has a long history and it is an unexhausted issue. The discovery of cognition nature of metaphor in recent years amuse great interest among various scholars and study of metaphor turns on a new look, including metaphor translation which was once a neglected issue in the past. Scholars have been looking for an effective way to translate metaphor across different languages and cultures. This paper tries to offer possibly practicable ways of metaphor translation through analyzing cognitive gap between Chinese metaphors and English metaphors.
