The initial value problem for one-dimensional compressible Euler equations of a polytropic ideal fluid is investigated in this paper,the local existence of the classical solution for Cauchy problem is obtained by utilizing the theory of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear symmetric hyperbolic systems.Furthermore,by functional methods,the classical solution is proved to be blowed up in finite time provided some initial data is sufficiently large.
