Gestalt psychologists hold that the whole is more than the mere sum of its parts,and analysis of the parts cannot provide a full understanding of the whole.Based on this theory,this paper elaborates the influences of Gestalt relevant principles on EST(English for Science and Technology) translation.EST Translation is bound to boast of complete successes only when these Gestalt principles are applied to the practice.
