According to the copyright law and relevant regulations, in order to specify the rights and obligations of both parties, Journal of East China Jiaotong University and the authors who submitted their articles to this journal have reached the following agreement.
Party A: the Authors
Party B: the Editorial Office of Journal of East China Jiaotong University
1.Authors shall take responsibility for their own writing. Party A guarantees that the article is free from political mistakes, confidential breach, and infringement on copyright or other rights of third-parties. If any infringement or breach of secrets occurs, Party A shall bear all responsibilities, and compensate Party B and its institutes for all losses caused thereby. Party B will no longer accept submissions from Party A within 2 years.
2.Party A guarantees that there is no multiple submission for the article. If Party B discovers that Party A has submitted the article to another journal, Party B has right to demand Party A to compensate for the losses caused to Party B, and will no longer accept submissions from Party A within 2 years.
3.Party A agrees to transfer the copyright of the article, including the right of compilation (part or whole of the article), translation, reproduction of printed and electronic versions, information network dissemination, and distribution, to Party B worldwide.
4.Journal of East China Jiaotong University is an open access journal. Permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format as long as the license terms are followed.
5.The content of the article may be included (or translated) in part by Party A in its subsequent works or compiled in Party A's non-journal collections. Party A has right to spread or make use of the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License.
6.If the submitted article is rejected, this agreement shall become invalid automatically upon Party A's receipt of the notice. If Party A does not receive Party B's review result within 3 months, Party A may withdraw the submission after confirming with Party B, and this agreement will automatically terminate.
7.Party B charges a one-off APC from Party A. If Party B publishes the article in any other form, there would be no more charge for Party A.
8.After the first publication of the paper in the Journal of East China Jiaotong University edited and published by Party B, Party B will post a sample publication to Party A.
9.For matters not covered, any disputes shall be resolved by negotiation. If negotiation fails, it shall be handled in accordance with the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant laws and regulations.
10.Any submission to this publication shall be deemed as fully understanding of this agreement and acceptance of the rights and obligations specified in this agreement.
* The English translation of the Copyright Transfer Agreement is only for reference. In case of any discrepancy, the Chinese version shall prevail.
